Dr. Victoria Bouhairie is a double board-certified Medical Doctor in Endocrinology, Metabolism, Diabetes, and Lifestyle Medicine, with a special interest in Culinary Medicine. Born in Atlanta, GA, and raised in Ghana, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with dual majors in Biology and Chemistry. She completed a postbaccalaureate research year at Duke University, earned her medical degree from Northwestern University, completed her residency at Loyola University Medical Center, and received her Endocrinology training at Washington University in St. Louis. With over fifteen years of experience, Dr. Bouhairie has gained rich experience in endocrine and diabetes care, being involved in multiple industry and NIH studies. She has received awards such as Advanced Diabetes Management for the Endocrine Fellow and the American Diabetes Association Focus on Fellows Travel Award. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, book chapters, and diabetes-related magazines, and she has given talks at various conferences. Dr. Bouhairie uses her culinary medicine expertise to understand cultural diversity in meal preparation, aiming to prevent and treat disease and restore well-being. She sees the relationship with her patients as a partnership, searching for root causes of symptoms, providing patient education, and ensuring equal quality healthcare.
