It’s not true, you do not have to face the hard stuff alone, so I honour your bravery in reaching out for help in a capitalistic, ableist society that favours individualism. I am so excited for you to lean into the support of a therapeutic relationship which is the foundational element to our work together. I focus on centering your individual experience with consideration for systemic, cultural, and political factors that influence your quality of life and relationships. I am a Black, queer, fat, Jamaican immigrant woman and my intersecting identities inform a large part of my work. As a person-centered therapist, I will support you through a non-pathologizing, empathetic, and compassionate stance. Additional theories which influence my approach are IFS/Parts Work and Emotion-Focused therapy. I work through a decolonial, anti-oppressive, and anti-racist lens, with a focus on promoting equity, authenticity, and collaboration. Together, we will create a therapeutic space that honours the wisdom you’ve gained from your lived experiences while integrating the tools and insights I have developed through my personal and professional journey.
