Audre Lorde said, “Our feelings are our most genuine paths to knowledge.” Therapy can feel like a first step with no destination in sight. Your emotions are deep pathways to understanding yourself from childhood to adulthood, and I help connect them. I am experienced in advocating for Black people and families as they navigate systems with histories of anti-Black racism and oppression. I work with adults on various concerns, including challenging family dynamics, relationship issues, chronic stress, grief, and depression. I provide emotion-focused care, with an emphasis on perinatal concerns and Black individuals. While training at Women’s College Hospital, I assisted parents dealing with infertility, labor and delivery experiences, pregnancy planning, and postpartum adjustments.I use humor to help ease the transition into therapy and to establish a balanced relationship between us. No matter what you are experiencing I walk you through the work of identifying patterns that are keeping you stuck, so you can live as your most authentic self. I believe that every transition holds the potential for growth, and that it is possible to emerge on the other side to live in alignment with your values. To start we can do a 15 minute consult.
