
Carmel Joseph is an associate in Mayer Brown’s New York office and a member of the Banking & Finance practice. Carmel has experience representing mortgage lenders in the acquisition and refinancing of multifamily properties insured under the Fair Housing Act. Carmel served as a judicial law clerk for the Connecticut Superior Courts. During law school, Carmel served as President of the Black Law Students Association. Upon graduation, Quinnipiac University School of Law honored Carmel with the Excellence in Clinical Legal Education Award and the Service to the Law School Award. Carmel was honored with the 2019 George W. Crawford Black Bar Association Prize and a recipient of the 2020 George W. Crawford Black Bar Association Priscilla Green Scholarship. Carmel is a trained mediator and speaks Haitian Creole.
