
Nwabundo Ifeyinwa Anusim, M.D., MPH, is a medical educator providing hematology training to medical professionals. Anusim’s areas of interest are classical and malignant hematology. Anusim is the recipient of the American Society of Hematology Medical Educator Institute award, where she developed a curriculum for management of acute complications of sickle cell disease. Anusim is collaborating with pediatric hematologists at Dell Medical School to develop a program supporting pediatric sickle cell patients transitioning to adult clinics. She is also spearheading the establishment of a comprehensive sickle cell disease center focused on the care of adults with sickle cell disease in Austin. Anusim is the principal investigator on a grant involving disparities in care for patients with sickle cell disease. Anusim has built a strong regional and international influence as a regular contributor and presenter. Anusim is a member of the American Society of Hematology Leadership Institute, where she advocates for patients with sickle cell disease. Currently, Anusim instructs and mentors medical students and physicians in training, and she sees patients in the adult inpatient and outpatient hematology/oncology services at Dell Seton Medical Center through the Ascension Seton Medical Center and Ascension Seton Specialty Care Center.
