
Gatluak is an Associate in the Lewis Brisbois’s New York office and a member of the Medical Malpractice, Healthcare, Life Sciences, General Liability, Construction, and Toxic Tort & Environmental Litigation Practices. Gatluak represents individual and institutional clients in complex and high exposure claims in the areas of medical malpractice, construction, products liability, toxic torts and environmental litigation and general liability. As part of the medical malpractice team in the firm’s NYC office, Gatluak represents individual healthcare providers, including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, in complex, high exposure claims in the area of medical malpractice. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Gatluak was an Assistant District Attorney for Bronx County and an attorney at a prominent New York law firm, where he defended doctors, teaching hospitals, health care systems and other medical professionals in complex litigation. Gatluak was born in South Sudan and became a refugee at the age of 8. He was resettled from Ethiopia to Omaha Nebraska at 15 years old, where he learned to read, write and speak English. His passion for lifelong learning and solving complex problems led him to the practice of law. He is a global education advocate and speaks to students, teachers, school administrators and policy makers about the transformative power of education. Gatluak has been selected by the National Black Lawyers as Top 40 Under 40 in 2022 and 2023. He received his B.S. from University of Nebraska at Omaha, cum laude, in 2015 and his J.D. from University of Nebraska College of Law in 2019 where he currently serves as College of Law Dean Advisory Board Member.
