Jean-Luc Kreitner provides litigation and compliance counseling, helping to resolve disputes concerning both energy and the environment. Relying on his experience from the federal government, from full-service law firms, and from leading legal advocacy organizations, Jean-Luc regularly handles issues related to the Federal Power Act (FPA), the Natural Gas Act (NGA), and the Interstate Commerce Act (ICA). He has also managed issues pertaining to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Superfund (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and the Clean Air Act (CAA), amongst other statutes. After graduating from law school, Jean-Luc joined the Environmental Law & Policy Center (ELPC) as an associate attorney and later advanced to staff attorney. His work with ELPC encompassed appearances before state and federal trial and appellate courts, including the Michigan Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, on matters concerning both energy and environmental law. At ELPC, Jean-Luc also provided counsel in retail energy matters before state public utility commissions, including the Illinois Commerce Commission, the Iowa Utilities Board, the Michigan Public Service Commission, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, and the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. Later, during his time in private practice, he also appeared before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin on a pipeline trespass matter. Now as a trial attorney in the Office of Administrative Litigation, Jean-Luc settles or litigates cases set for hearing before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
