I am from Kingston, Jamaica and was raised by a hard-working single mom, and surrounded by a large extended family. There was a lot of instability socially and economically; but what was always a constant was my mother’s push for me to prioritize my education and build a career so that I could do better than she felt that she did. Hard work, determination, while also having a deep concern for others and their needs, still make up the essence of my core values.
