Quentin R. Youmans, MD, MSc, completed his undergraduate medical education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and internal medicine residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University where he served as a Chief Medical Resident for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Youmans is a clinician, educator, and researcher with a passion for health equity, mentorship, and promoting diversity in medicine. His work highlighting racial disparities and bias in medical education has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Internal Medicine, and the Annals of Internal Medicine among others. He is the recipient of several awards including the Dr. John E. Franklin Commitment to Diversity Award, the American Medical Association Foundation Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award and was named one of the 2021 40 under 40 Leaders in Minority Health by the National Minority Quality Forum. He is pursuing further fellowship training in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology where his research focus will center on the social determinants of health in heart failure and community engaged research for heart failure prevention and optimization of treatment.
