
Shanitra Jackson is originally from Montgomery, Alabama. She is a December 2011 graduate of University of Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (cum laude). Ms. Jackson furthered her scholastic endeavors by attending Faulkner University Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. After receiving her Juris Doctor degree in May 2015, Ms. Jackson passed the Alabama State Bar in September of 2015. After passing the bar, she served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office until 2021. Ms. Jackson managed a caseload of over 200 cases ranging from theft of property to murder, being promoted to the Violent Crimes Unit for her outstanding accomplishments in the courtroom. As a product of public education, Ms. Jackson understands the significance of ensuring that educators are valued and treated fairly. Putting action behind her beliefs in 2021, Ms. Jackson took an opportunity to serve as an In-House Litigation Attorney for the Alabama Education Association, representing education employees. When Attorney Jackson is not practicing law, she is spending time with family, traveling with friends, and participating in professional organizations.
