Hi! I’m Sylvia. I work with Black, Indigenous, People of Colour (BIPOC), first generation Canadians reconciling immigrant parental values versus Canadian ones, women undergoing a period of peri and post partum concerns, bicultural couples, anxiety and trauma, specifically complex post traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD). I also work with teachers who are burnt out or dealing with compassion fatigue. Therapy can instill acceptance, courage and problem solving skills that can then diminish fear, improve meaningful relationships, help attain life goals, develop integrity and provide compassion for self and others. The holding space that I can provide is one of collaboration, confidentiality, exploration and safety. I work with individuals, couples and families in a caring and curiously informed way. Currently, I offer online sessions. The modalities I find useful are ACT, CBT, DBT, IFS, Brainspotting, mindfulness, understanding attachment, radical acceptance, compassion, and cultural/diversity counselling.
